Today I decided to stream the action happening in our backyard live to the internet. As we are the developer of mimoLive it was a no brainer how to do this: First I installed the AXIS IP Camera to capture the bird breeding and transmitting the video footage to my home office’s desk.
mimoLive is able to capture the video from a Motion-JPEG video source and add a lot of interesting things.
- Analog Clock
- Breaking News Headlines
- Picture-in-Picture view from another Logitec webcam
- Weather data
- Temperatur graph visualized by WeatherSnoop
- Still image of the nest showing the number of eggs (or other interesting things we can’t see live)
- and much more!
This is how the mimoLive document window looks like:
The weather data comes from a weather station mounted to the roof of our house. The data is transferred wirelessly to a receiver which is connected by USB to the mimoLive computer. The WeatherSnoop app is reading in the data and provides it to mimoLive. Learn more about the WeatherSnoop layer in mimoLive here.
